Edith is Suspicious

"Huh?" Leary said. "What's a 'Ripley'"?

"It's a chain of rather fine department stores with a number of outlets in Chile and Peru. I found out about it on the Internet. I asked the clerk on the desk where the nearest one is, but he didn't know."

"I could probably find that out for you from my smartphone," McClane said. (It was Leary who had lent his phone to Dupris, so he still had his.) "But my friend and I were just going out to look for a restaurant, so perhaps you'd like to join us? Once we're settled at our table, I'll see if I can find the answer to your question."

"Thanks. That's very kind of you. Er, what about your other friend? Isn't he joining us?"

"Er no. He wasn't hungry."

Edith thought he looked uncomfortable for a moment. That was odd. Perhaps she was just imagining it?

1. We stay with them as they walk down the street looking for a restaurant. (Apparently they hadn't fancied the hotel's own restaurant.)
2. Meanwhile, back with Dupris...
