Who's gonna be the one to tell him that his great idea has a fatal flaw that literally anybody who can get their hands on whatever manifests these portals can get into the country! Not just from Mexico, but from literally anywhere!"

"We're kinda screwed here," Bruno McClane replies. "These portals, they just might put every airline, car manufacturer, railroad, whatever you can think of out of business and do all sorts of unintended damage to the world economy. There's a lot more here than just letting undocumented immigrants or supposed terrorists into the United States enter the country. There's some real danger in our future, and our new friend Edith only knows so much about them. We may have to start a worldwide investigation."

1. The discussion continues for several hours.
2. One of the CIA agents gets on the phone with his superior up in Washington.
3. Right on cue, a portal appears on one side of the room, which brings the conversation to an immediate halt.
