In the midst of his Garfield collection shopping binge, Scott Childers is struck by a disturbing realization: "Did I not turn off my Nintendo 64 the last time I played it ten years ago?" he asks himself. He then drops an armload of books onto the floor, dumbfounded. Right on cue, a dimensional portal manifests itself to Scott's right. He looks inside and recognizes that his old gaming room awaits him on the other end. After scooping up a few armloads of Garfield books and throwing them through the portal, saving him the trouble of actually buying them, Scott enters the portal and makes a beeline for his gaming system at one end of the room. Sure enough, even though the TV has long been switched off, the Nintendo 64 has been on continuously for the past ten years. A cartridge of Superman 64 still sits in the dock, and a copy of Monster Truck Madness lies to one side. The console is incredibly hot to the touch, having been running nonstop for a decade now.
