Horsehockey V - Episode 2114

Our transplanted Americans stop dead just before approaching the entrance to Fat Sally's as they notice a sign on the door indicating that they are closed, and won't be open for several hours. A quick check of a nearby clock confirms that Bill, Alice and Edith are in for a long wait if they're that determined to eat and drink here.

"So, what do we do now?" asks Edith rhetorically.

Looking up and down Thames Street, our heroes notice several businesses: two more restaurants, a hotel, a museum, and a couple of department stores, among other establishments. It's still very early in Oamaru this morning, so almost no one is open, aside from two coffee shops half a block down the street.

  1. Enter a coffee shop, even if Bill earlier said he'd prefer alcohol over coffee.
  2. Take a short walk.
  3. Bill and Alice both suggest trying to find the quickest method back to Montana that they can.
  4. Everyone just stands on the sidewalk, indecisive. How long do they wait until they are forced to move on?
