Alice finds herself making a face as she reads through the menu. No, it has nothing to do with the entrees having such goofy names as "Much Ado About Dumpling" and "Paddock Cadillac", or that all of the desserts cost $12.50NZ.
"Honey, what's the matter?" Bill asks.
"Bill, I think this place might be too expensive for our liking," Alice answered. "We usually don't pay this much back in Miles City."
"For all we know, Alice, it might be cheap for New Zealand," Edith reasoned. "And this is the first place we stopped at!"
Alice still carefully contemplates the menu...
-
"All right, let's go in," she says.
-
"Why don't we try that pizza place next door?"
-
"Right, where's the nearest McDonald's instead?"
-
Three minutes later, Bill, Alice and Edith are all making a beeline for Countdown up the street. Getting groceries might be cheaper than dining out this morning.
