When Belboz was sure Leandra was out of hearing, he let out a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness for that."

"How did you know that there was a sorceress called Ghislaine here?" Exotica asked him.

"I didn't. How could I, given that we don't even seem to be on our own world. It was just the most sorceressy-sounding name I could think of on the spur of the moment. It's extremely unfortunate that she actually exists. I was hoping that the name would mean nothing to the Nira, but that she would be unwilling to admit to us that there could be a sorceress that she hadn't heard of. That would have made it much easier to spin her a convincing made-up story."

"I think we need to find a way to escape before she comes back," Astra said.

"Since neither Josh nor Belboz seems able to call up a portal within this Grand Kingdom of Night's Grace - as the Nira called it - that's easier said than done," Exotica said.

3. Just then, they heard the sound of the door being unlocked. Surely the Nira couldn't have returned so quickly?
