The Second War

First mentioned in Never Ending Quest episode 12653, the renegade angel Chamuel had been a participant in a conflict fought on a higher plane called by those who were aware of it as "the Second War". At some point in the past, Chamuel abandoned his role in the war, having grown disillusioned by the eternal conflict between good and evil, and how it directly played a part in the lives of ordinary humans living on Earth. Some time after he withdrew from battle, Chamuel fathered a child with a British woman named Edgar Hawkings. Edgar lived a fairly ordinary life, but he always suspected that something was off about it.

On his twenty-first birthday, while sleeping in his college dorm, Edgar was greeted by a shadowy figure who demanded to know where his father was. Shortly thereafter, Edgar realized that he was the son of a renegade fallen angel named Chamuel, and spent a year on the run throughout the British Isles before getting on a plane that flew to America. Edgar was last seen on an apparently unsuccessful search for his real father, while being pursued by a member of the Serafim, Donel [NEQ 12676], another agent named Sariel [NEQ 12922], and a private detective named John Thessamar [NEQ 13269 & 15529], who had extensive experience with the weird, the supernatural, and the unexplained, and he had been dispatched by the United States government to track down all involved.

Chamuel had spent years just out of sight from his son and his former allies. There were numerous close calls, but no one had gotten their hands on him, which might have brought on the end of the world itself. Chamuel had briefly removed himself from Earth just as the passage linking it and the homeworld of Allaria reopened; the one that sent Lord Fred, Velus, Astra and Exotica back to the strange world that they had been exiled to once before. Shortly afterward, Belboz the necromancer discovered the portal to Earth and embarked on a trip to find his allies.

While traveling through space, Chamuel discovered and entered the portal, which he could see. There was some kind of altercation between Chamuel and Belboz, of which the necromancer got the worst of. Belboz was a powerful wizard, but he was no match for the near godlike powers of a fallen angel. The beaten Belboz spiraled down the portal, landing just off of the Canning Stock Route in Western Australia.

Chamuel stepped towards the fallen necromancer and the two frightened princesses tending to him...

1. "Who are you?" Astra demands to know.
2. "Please don't harm us!" Exotica pleads.
3. A second portal opens. Who will emerge from it?
