Sure, it was a risk but so was going without food.
You even bring the platter with you. Sun Tzu would like that. Collecting resources in a strange land.
Further on down the staircase you find a strange object. It seems to be a stuffed animal. Light purple and blue. But it is not in the shape of any animal you recognize.

  1. Leave it be and continue on down.
  2. Go back up the staircase.
  3. Prod it with the platter.
  4. Yeet the stuffed animal over the side of the staircase.
  5. You see a payphone nearby so you call up up Doctor Who showrunner Keanu Reeves for advice.
  6. You continue on down. The railing is now made of cake. You eat a piece for dessert.
