Route Transtaïga

Lord Fred and Velus the talking dog had touched down to earth somewhere in the Canadian province of Quebec. They were standing in the center of a gravel industrial road called the Trans-Taiga Road, which literally runs from nowhere to nowhere, if you consider a junction with the James Bay Road to the west and a dead end at the Brisay hydroelectric generating station to the east "nowhere to nowhere".

There is little along the road but the occasional hunting camp, one or two picnic areas for the ones bold enough to tackle this road on sightseeing trips, a couple of primitive airstrips, and a handful of hydroelectric facilities. An emergency phone is located just fourteen miles from the western end of the road, but that would do little good for Lord Fred and Velus, who wouldn't have known how to use it in the first place.

It was a chilly and overcast day on the Trans-Taiga. Lord Fred and Velus had been walking for about ten minutes. Neither of them had said much since landing on Earth again, but they both were thinking the same thing: where are we, why are we here, and how do we get out of this?

Suddenly...

1. The wizard and necromancer Belboz appears before them. Perhaps he could provide some clarification?
